By Invitation only are offering table dancing and pole dancing courses to really help you with fitness, confidence and sexual agility.

Group lessons begin at a cost of £20.00 for four 2 hour lessons and private tuition is available at £45.00 for an hour lesson. On completion of the course you will receive a Prestige Table Dancing certificate, of either bronze, silver or gold.

Some of the basic moves you will learn on the beginners' course are:

The upright spin: A general spin around the pole which exercises the uppoer arms and hands

The ballerina: Same as the upright spin, but more decorative, with one leg gripping the pole behind the knee and the other leg stretched out behind in the same position as the fore leg. The idea is to land gracefully on the floor and get up as elegantly as possible, incorporating floor work.

The fireman's lift: In a seated position on the pole, lower your upper body so you hang upside down with your toes pointed in the air, while the other leg crosses over giving you grip. You can either slide down and land gracefully or pull yourself back up. Exercises upper body and stomach muscles.

Hooked foot to horizontal landing: Throw your body to one side of the pole. Crouch upside down and hook one foot on to the pole, then grip it on the other side with the other foot. Release your hands and place them on the floor. Crawl forwards with your hands, gripping the pole with your ankles. Lay face down on the floor in a horizontal position. This move exercises all muscles.

Here is an article from The Portsmouth evening News, featuring ordinary woman in a special one day course held by Janie, here's what the ladies thought:

Meet A Student

Sharon Boydon, 29, is an Inland Revenue Officer who has a degree in psychology and six A-levels. Sharon lives at Drayton, Portsmouth.

"I have a background in martial arts so I consider myself very fit and agile. But I didn't realise just how demanding pole dancing is.

It Really takes some getting used to, swinging around a pole, and needs a great deal of confidence too. I love dressing up and dancing, but don't always feel totally confident about showing off my body.

I've seen dancers at Stringfellows nightclub but I wasn't all that impressed. They didn't do many acrobatic moves. Pole-dancing takes some practice and is something I'd love to master. Today has really opened my eyes to what it's all about - and it's not as easy as it looks."

Janie's verdict: "Sharon is very theatrical and has a beautiful face and hair which enhances her moves."
